The American Chestnut Foundation
​The American chestnut tree has been chosen as the foundation for the Gettysburg Nature Alliance's teacher training program. The chestnut was chosen because of its rich history and ultimate demise, leaving an environmental void impossible to fill. As such, the Alliance has put in place a formal Letter of Understanding with The American Chestnut Foundation, outlining mutual goals of developing the American Chestnut Student Educational Center and accompanying curricula.
